More About Meets

Time Trials: This is a practice meet for just the Sharx team, where swimmers will swim each race (Free, Back, Breast, Fly, IM) in order to establish baseline times. It will also give coaches a sense of which races a swimmer is ready to complete in a meet.

A Meets (Saturday mornings): A meets are dual meets against a team in our division. In general, fastest 3 swimmers in each race (back, breast, fly, IM) and fastest 6 swimmers in free will compete in A meets. However, swimmers cannot swim in every event for A meets and sometimes swimmers are out sick or on vacation, so A meet roster will vary throughout the season.

B Meets (Wednesday evenings): B meets are dual meets against teams in our area. Everyone can swim in B meets! Swimmers who competed in the previous A meet cannot swim the same race in the B meet, but can swim any races they didn't swim on the previous Saturday. Coach Dana will sign-up swimmers for Wednesday races based on readiness each week.

Divisionals: This is the championship meet for each division in MCSL. The swimmers with the top 2 times in each race qualify to swim in divisionals. This is a large meet with all 6 teams in the division competing together.

Coaches Long Course: The top 8 MCSL swimmers in each race compete in a 50m pool for the Coaches Long Course meet.

All-Stars: The MCSL All-Stars meet consists of an Individual All-Stars meet (Sunday) and an All-Stars Relays meet (Saturday). All-Star participation is based on qualifying times; the top 16 MCSL swimmers in each event will compete. See the MCSL website for more information on All-Stars, including qualifying times.
